How to Take An Effective Mental Health Day 

What makes you happy?

We could all say that a vacation helps us reset but the truth is that we need to have days that give us the break without having to go anywhere. 

I think that this is a time where you get to know yourself. Are you the type of person that loves to do yard work, work on a hobby, sleep, shop, go get pampered…I love to go to second hand stores and look at everything or go to Home Depot and walk every isle but my favorite is to drive to the water and read a book (that one doesnt happen too much due to the weather or lack of time).

This time will help lower cortisol levels and it is so good for your mental health.

And if you feel that you don’t have time, think about all the time we waste watching shows that really don’t add value to our lives, or the times we’ve spent on social media…put the phone down, you deserve to take care of yourself.

Remember, “you cant pour from an empty cup, take care of your self first”
