This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood

Are you ready?

What does your morning routine look like? Do you feel that there are little ways that you can help your body have a little bit more energy through out the day? …and remember, small steps people!

Here is a small suggestion…waking up, and thinking of a positive moment, something to be grateful for…and adding a stretch in here and there…yes, like a cat or dog. Every other animal wakes up stretching. Only humans sit up and roll out of bed!! Try it. Wake up, stretch your body before you even get out of the covers.

Next, try drinking a glass of water. I know how hard it is to drink water so I squeeze a little lemon and chug away…and then quickly grab my cup of coffee. A second little change is to look at what you are putting in your coffee. If you drink it black, awesome! But us sugar lovers, can change to a lower glycemic index sweetener, try real milk or milk substitute (coconut/hemp milk), but staying away from the more processed coffee additives…YES, you, step away from that bottle of syrup.

This one is very important but still your choice, try to stay away from simple sugars that will cause a crash of energy later. Yes, I know this sounds horrible!! I love my doughnuts and breakfast cupcakes too. But most bagels are consider complex carbohydrates, and help keep your blood sugars level until you get to lunch. Another choice is apples and peanut butter. The protein in this breakfast will help you feel full.

Finally, for those of you that play all out!! You know who your are!! According to Chinese medicine, it is best to exercise in the morning. You can help to build the bodies energy and get the blood flowing. This is the bodies Yang time, and time to build on Yang energy.
